Drinking… by Binod Dawadi

In a restaurant, all alone I sit,
No one to share my dreams or wit,
Sad and worried, no one to hear,
My joys and sorrows, all unclear.

But fear not, my dearest friend,
For in this glass, solace I’ll find,
Drinking, my companion true,
Taking me to places a new.

In another joint, a merry scene,
Where glasses clink and souls convene,
Making friends, as laughter takes flight,
Dancing in rhythm, under dimmed light.

Pains and troubles, they fade away,
As melodies guide worries astray,
Drinking’s not all wicked, you see,
A friend who loves and cares so free.

Unlike judgment’s scornful plea,
It asks, why dost thou drink, my glee?
For in this union, it’s clear to tell,
Drinking’s not just a one-way spell.
